You have to get the humor of German speakers. ![]() German speakers tend to be modest/overly critical-but there's a lot. I've said it before, and I will continue to say it: German has excellent media. I don’t watch anime, but I’ve spoken to Germans who do and they say Anime is often dubbed into their language too. There are some fun youtube channels (JUcktmichnicht, for example, which I watch to improve my casual German), as well as some good educational ones (Der Erste Weltkrieg for example).Īs series are concerned, by far the most important for me to mention is that German dubs are amazing. I almost never watch anything only for fun, because I hate the feeling of wasting time, and so learning languages has opened up a new way of chilling, disconnecting and not having to think for a while, by watching stuff I never would have watched otherwise. One of the best things about language learning for me is being able to do something traditionally considered unproductive (like watching a TV show or brainless youtube videos), while being incredibly productive, by watching it in a target language for practice. ![]()
